my one overriding desire was I didn't want to just throw all that away. So to have the rug pulled out from under us, it was just like, “Oh God, seriously?” We'd found our groove, we were digging the look of the show, we were digging the scripts and stuff, we were on fire. We were in the middle of doing our second iteration of Batman, The New Batman Adventures. It was not the words I expected to hear, let's just say that. It was surreal, and disappointing, shocking, and dream-like. In that meeting, Kellner told the team he wanted a new Batman series, one that depicted Bruce Wayne as a teenager.īruce Timm, producer: I'm not sure I can adequately describe at that moment. Timm, Burnett, Dini and the late Jean MacCurdy, who was then running WB Animation, were in attendance. ![]() Unexpected Origin Story The genesis of the new series spun out of a meeting with WB TV boss Jamie Kellner. Through these new conversations, we learned how the team paved a new road that led Batman into the future… and beyond. So how did a network exec’s unwanted idea turn into a beloved animated series with its own unique legacy? How did Batman Beyond’s producers create something from such a specific ask that not only lived up to the established Bat canon but also expanded and enriched it?įor this installment of IGN Inside Stories, we talked with many of the principals involved with the series from the very beginning. How did a network exec's unwanted idea turn into a beloved animated series with its own unique legacy? Wisely realizing that nuking the canon established in BTAS – not to mention the mythology in decades of Batman comics – would be disastrous, Timm scrambled to come up with an alternative: a Batman tale set in the future. The series exists because creators Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Alan Burnett managed to stay ahead of studio directives that called for Batman to follow the standard template for WB Network programming at the time: Go young or go home. The story behind the story of Batman Beyond is almost as interesting as the tales told within the series’ 52 episodes and one feature-length film (the acclaimed and controversial Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker).

This created long lines and often concessions were simply closed at peak hours. The park also was less than 80% staffed so their strategy was to close down rides/amusements (wave pool, water slides, lazy river kids play area sections etc) throughout the day and shift staff to other closed rides/amusements. Plywood was visible through multiple large rusted holes (too many to note) covering entire platform and shifting due to weight of slide riders on it. Taking photos of as this would probably warrant immediate response and repair. The kind of eye sore this park does not want you seeing. VISIBLY RUSTED slide platforms cannot be missed. Maintenance of park is long overdue with serious visible concerns on waterslides just to the right or east of the wave pool. This park has undergone new ownership/name in past few years so we thought some money would have been invested since our last visit but found nearly no changes except increases in entrance cost and addition of parking fees. Almost all the reviews online are negative and say the same things, shocked this place is still open. Do better and I hope the people who can make those changes actually read this. If they can afford to have three sets of firework shows like the website says for holidays then they should be able to fix the equipment. Ridiculous for the amount they are making. The only slide availability today was the mini typhoon. There is not much we can do when he is small and the lazy River and half the slides he could go on are all closed. When is this stuff being fixed? It would be nice if the closed rides were posted so I wouldn’t have wasted time even driving there today and just stayed at my own pool to swim. ![]() Why wasn’t that stuff maintained and fixed in the winter offseason? And splash water beach is now closed for an electrical maintenance. The high energy surrounding the accidents cause severe damage to the surrounding soft tissue as well and ~6% of all patients with tibial pilon fractures have multiple injuries and require intensive care units ( 7, 8). Most commonly the high–energy traumas are due to falls or jumps from great heights or motor vehicle accidents. Sometimes rather low-energy rotational forces, for example in skiing accidents, can also lead to pilon fractures, but the comminution seen in these fractures is usually less severe ( 5). In contrast to simple ankle fractures, pilon fractures usually result from high-energy trauma with heavy axial force, which basically causes the tibial plafond to burst over the talus ( 7). Furthermore, in recent studies it has been suggested that tibial pilon fractures are likely to be less comminuted and less severe when the fibula remains intact ( 6). Tibial pilon fractures with the fibula intact are more likely in AO Type B fractures than in Type C fractures. In ~75–90% of all cases the fibula is also fractured ( 5). Men tend to suffer from these injuries slightly more often than women with the majority of injuries occurring at around 45 years ( 3, 4). Tibial pilon fractures are quite rare, accounting for ~3–10% of all tibial fractures and <1% of all fractures to the lower extremity ( 1– 3). The aim of this review is therefore to summarize protocols in managing these difficult fractures, review the literature on recent developments and therefore give surgeons a better understanding and ability to handle tibial pilon fractures. Additional methods of treating the soft tissue envelope are currently being investigated and have shown promising results for the future. In the early years of this century treatment has evolved to a two–staged protocol, which nowadays is the gold standard of care. Therefore, long -term outcome is often poor and correct initial management crucial. Especially Type C fractures are extremely difficult to manage as the high energy involved in developing this type of injury frequently damages the soft tissue surrounding the fracture zone severely. Many different classification systems exist so far, with the AO Classification being the most commonly used classification in the clinical setting. This term has further been used to portray the mechanism involved in tibial pilon fractures in which the distal tibia acts as a pestle with heavy axial forces over the talus basically causing the tibia to burst. He used the French word “pilon” (i.e., pestle), to describe the mechanical function of the distal tibia in the ankle joint. Tibial pilon fractures were first described by Étienne Destot in 1911. 3Department of Trauma Surgery, Center for Musculoskeletal Surgery, Charité University Medicine Berlin, Berlin, Germany.2Center for Orthopedic and Trauma Surgery, University Medical Center, Cologne, Germany.1Department of Trauma Surgery, Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technical University of Munich, Munich, Germany.Braun 1,3 Chlodwig Kirchhoff 1 Peter Biberthaler 1 Moritz Crönlein 1 Olivia Mair 1 * Patrick Pflüger 1 Kai Hoffeld 1,2 Karl F. ![]() Apple-certified screen repairs are performed by trusted experts who use genuine Apple parts. ![]() Win10, since long time (and maybe a bit related to this topic): In fact, the current drivers don’t even have the custom control panel extension! When porting to 64-bit, the SetWindowLong becomes SetWindowLongPtr to expand the value to 64 bits, and the name of the index changes from GWL_ WNDPROC to GWLP_ WNDPROC, with the extra P emphasizing that the value should be passed to Get/ SetWindowLongPtr.īut they forgot to upgrade their cast from (LONG) to (LONG_PTR), so they were accidentally truncating their 64-bit value to a sign-extended 32-bit value as part of the restoration. I suspect this code was originally written as 32-bit code, and the line was SetWindowLong(GetDlgItem(m_dlg, IDC_SOME_BUTTON), SetWindowLongPtr(GetDlgItem(m_dlg, IDC_SOME_BUTTON), Return self ? self->RealDialogProc(hdlg, uMsg, wParam, lParam)Īnd here is the “real” DLGPROC: INT_PTR CALLBACK M圜lass:RealDialogProc( M圜lass* self = (M圜lass*)GetWindowLongPtr( HWND hdlg, UINT uMsg, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam) Here is the reverse-engineered dialog procedure: INT_PTR CALLBACK DialogProc( The custom property sheet that comes with one particular video card has a bug in its WM_ DESTROY handler: It casts a WNDPROC to a 32-bit value, causing the upper 32 bits to be lost. Since this was a Display control panel, I focused on the video card information, since video card drivers can provide a custom Display control panel plug-in to show off their driver-specific features. To debug this problem, I had to do some triangulation of the crash dumps to look for a third party component that was common to all (or at least most) of the crashes. Not everybody who uses a computer speaks English. It’s (checks watch) 2023, get with the program. Bonus insult: Their button is ANSI, not Unicode. This tells me that somebody subclassed a button, and then tried to restore the original window procedure, but they messed up and truncated the 64-bit pointer value to a 32-bit signed integer. The crash was due to the instruction pointer being in the middle of nowhere. Since these crashes are coming via telemetry and the Windows Error Reporting service, there is no information about what steps are required to reproduce the problem. Windows reliability telemetry reported that there were a large number of crashes in the Display control panel. ![]() One tool that can handle several jobs means a smaller overall investment. Likewise, some caulk removers might have a fixture for removing caulk, as well as a fixture for tooling fresh caulk.įor DIYers, this type of versatility could make all the difference. For instance, painter’s tools with knife edges can scrape up caulk, open paint cans, or even tighten the screws on light switch covers. There are a lot of tools available that can remove caulk, but some of them have more than one function. These tools will be able to get underneath the caulk and separate it from the surface-something that might seem impossible with a smaller caulk removing tool. In these cases, a larger tool with a longer handle can make applying leverage to a thick bead of caulk much easier. However, for large amounts of caulk, a smaller tool might not do the trick. For these situations, a compact tool that will fit in those nooks and crannies will make removing that stubborn sealant much easier. Removing caulk may require reaching into some tight or awkward places, and large tools just aren’t up for the job. Don’t be fooled into thinking they can remove caulk from fabrics, however. These sprays will loosen the caulk and make it easier to remove, but they won’t remove the caulk entirely on their own.
I gave a quick talk explaining the history of the building and what the mission would entail, and then we passed out the leashes. We had over 3,000 RSVPs, and the crowd was so large that we filled up the giant warehouse and then had an enormous line of people waiting to get in winding around the block. It’s tough to say exactly how many participants showed up. The building was recently bought by a French artist, who is converting it into an art space.
